One of Pop Smoke shooting suspects sentenced to four years
It’s been over three years since Pop Smoke was shot and killed in Hollywood Hills, while staying in an airbnb. Four men entered this home, in an attempt to rob the rising Brooklyn rapper out of his jewelry. At the time, Pop was reportedly attacked and shot, while leaving the shower.
In July 2020, four suspects went on to be arrested and charged, as many were teens. The shooter is also said to have only been 15-years-old, at the time. However, one of them has just entered a guilty plea. The the three others, which includes Corey Walker, haven’t been to trial yet.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Judge J. Christopher Smith sentenced a 20-year-old to four years and two months in a juvenile treatment facility. This came after pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter and home invasion robbery. This plea was reached on Thursday.
This suspect also attempted to get a reduced sentence of two years and eight months, which is how much time he’s already spent in jail. However, a judge denied this request, as the man is likely remaining incarcerated until he’s 25.
12 days before his death, Pop released his “Meet The Woo 2” mixtape, which was led by hits such as “Dior” remix featuring Gunna and “Christopher Walking.” It also contained collaborations with Lil Tjay, Quavo, Fivio Foreign, and more.
