Parents of Tyre Sampson are suing ICON Park

Last month, 14-year-old Tyre Sampson fell to his death, while on one of the rides at ICON Park, in Orlando. This was on the park’s “The Orlando Free Fall” ride. Many on social media were shocked to find out that the young teenager went through this situation. Now, his family is looking to hold ICON Park accountable.

According to TMZ, Sampson’s parents, Nekia Dodd and Yarnell Sampson, are filing a wrongful death lawsuit, against the amusement park. Michael Haggard of Harrard Law Firm, as well as Ben Crump, will be representing Sampson’s parents. ICON Park’s “pertinent associates, including the creators and operators of the free-fall ride itself,” are also listed in the lawsuit. They are suing for damages, and are looking to head to trial.

Sampson’s parents state that The Orlando Free Fall had weight and heigh requirements, that Tyree did not meet. They added that this ride in general, isn’t very safe, compared to other rides at ICON Park. This ride reportedly did not have a seatbelt, either. This is believed to have caused Tyree to be ejected from the ride, from 100 feet down.
