In 2005, Houston hip hop rose to unexpected heights. Mike Jones won fans over with his simple lyrics about coming up. On his “Still Tippin'” single, Mike Jones also featured fellow Houston rappers, Slim Thug and Paul Wall. Over the past seven years, the latter two have held Houston down.

Paul Wall branched out and is much more than a rapper, he is a popular figure in hip hop, well outside of his music. During the fall of 2005, Paul Wall rose to fame when he appeared on Nelly’s single, “Grillz.” Now, Paul Wall and his business partner, Johnny Dang, are making custom-made jewelry.

Recently, Paul Wall was in New York City and he visited Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club.” Paul Wall brought Johnny Dang along for the ride. During their interview, the first topic discussed was their new venture. The conversation later shifted to Paul Wall making new music.
