A couple of years ago, Pharrell returned from a brief hiatus and took the game back over. Silently, he began appearing on tracks with T.I. and other big names. Then, he produced Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” and appeared on the song and dropped “Happy” that same summer.
Pharrell also was on big records from Future, among other people. Now, he is firmly back on top of the game and Apple Music recruited Pharrell for his own radio show. Since then, Pharrell has moved onto working with Taraji P. Henson on the Hidden Figures movie.
Hot 97 spoke to Pharrell, as he sat down with Ebro, Peter Rosenberg, and Laura Stylez. He discussed his role in the Hidden Figures film and the soundtrack. While there, he also discussed “Happy,” and revealed who the track was originally for.
