Phil Jackson responds to Kendrick Lamar on Twitter

Phil JacksonEven though Phil Jackson is from New York, he receives a lot of love in Los Angeles, especially after coaching the Lakers to five championships. There are a lot of people on the West Coast who consider Phil Jackson their hero. In the case of Kendrick Lamar, he grew up in the era where the Lakers dominated.

Kendrick Lamar hopped on Big Sean’s record, “Control,” off Hall of Fame. This track also features Jay Electronica and features Kendrick Lamar spazzing on the entire rap game. In his lyrical spaz, Kendrick Lamar name drops a lot of people and Phil Jackson is among them.

Well aware of who Kendrick Lamar is, Phil Jackson reached out to him on Twitter. He is used to coaching young, talented people. Even though this wasn’t basketball, he offered a bit of coaching to Kendrick Lamar when he told him it was alright to be cocky and said he needs a bit of mentoring.
