In 2004, the Detroit Pistons surprised the world, and won the NBA title. They defeated a stacked Lakers team filled with Hall of Famers. Their title came after three years of hard work, where they slowly improved each season. The following year, they lost in the NBA Finals. A year after that, they lost in the Conference Finals. After that, they lost a few more times in the Conference Finals. Finally, the devolved into tonight, losing a 21 point lead in Boston to set an NBA record 28 consecutive losses.

The Detroit Pistons are supposed to be one of the NBA’s most promising teams. Cade Cunningham is their leader and he’s poised to be a star. In addition, Detroit traded for James Wiseman, who was the second overall pick. During the offseason, the Pistons hired Monty Williams as their head coach. In 2021, he coached the Phoenix Suns to the NBA Finals. The following year, Williams coached them to the best record in the NBA.

Cade Cunningham has verbalized his frustration with the Pistons’ struggles. Tonight, the Detroit Pistons have played well against the Boston Celtics. Led by Jayson Tatum, Boston is one of the NBA’s best teams, and they are aiming for a return to the NBA Finals. However, they were getting outplayed by Detroit, looking like anything but contenders. However, Tatum led a strong comeback, resulting in Detroit overcoming a 21 point hole to win. This gives the Pistons the NBA record for a losing streak, at 28.
