Being almost force-fed Diggy Simmons and Justin Bieber, Chief Keef was welcomed with open arms as hip hop’s new younger artist. Chief Keef had been working with Soulja Boy when his “I Don’t Like” single took off. The Chicago rapper caught the attention of the world for such harsh lyrics at a young age.
Everyone was paying attention to Chief Keef, especially the labels. Ranging from the popular Birdman to Interscope Records wanted to sign him. Before the end of the summer, Chief Keef set up shop with Interscope. During this time, Chief Keef’s hometown media outlet, Pitchfork Media, interviewed him at a gun range.
Before the fame, Chief Keef was arrested and later released on probation for pointing a gun at a police officer. When the interview was held at a gun range, Pitchfork Media came under fire. After Chief Keef’s Twitter made disgusting posts, Pitchfork retracted the interview and now a Chicago judge wants the footage by December 12 for evidence.
