Plane catches on fire after leaving Miami International Airport
The city of Miami is known for its heat and its action. Last night, Atlas Air 95 took off from their airport, but made a quick landing. This plane ended up catching on fire, immediately after takeoff. In total, the plane was only in the air for fourteen minutes. Its takeoff was at 10:32 pm and the emergency landing took place at 10:46, after flames took over the plane.
Since 2001, there have been all kinds of precautions for safety added to airports. While all of these precautions have gone into making airports safe, aircrafts didn’t receive the same kind of attention. As a result, many airplanes are still flying that should be replaced. For various reasons, many airplanes don’t get replaced, or repaired, until it’s too late.
In the case of this airplane, it’s an Atlas Air Boeing 747-8. The plane was scheduled for takeoff from Miami at 10:32 pm, last night. Initially, everything was routine about the flight. Without incident, the plane took off. However, just minutes later, the plane burst into flames. This led to an emergency landing, right back at the Miami International Airport, at 10:46.
