Playboi Carti Arrested in Georgia For Drugs and Gun Charges After Being Stopped For Expired Tag

Playboi Carti continues to be one of the hottest artists in the game out of Atlanta but he just ran into some serious legal issues in Clayton County, GA, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. On Thursday, he was arrested for drug and guns charges. He was originally stopped in his Lamborghini due to him having an expired tag on his car, per Clayton County Sheriff Victor Hill said Friday in a news release.

Police say that they found 12 bags of marijuana, xanax, oxycodone and codeine, and also three guns. Another man was with Carti at the scene and he was also taken to jail. He ended up receiving bond and was released this morning.

Carti is known for his breakout hit single “wokeuplikethis” featuring Lil Uzi Vert as he ended up releasing his debut studio album ‘Die Lit‘ in 2018. He is expected to release his sophomore album ‘Whole Lotta Red‘ in 2020. Check out photos of the items seized by police in Clayton Countybelow.
