On “Forever” by Drake, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, and Eminem, Kanye West raps “I used to have hood dreams, big fame big chains.” A lot of people feel this way about hip hop on the outside looking in. Most rappers, until recently, wore a lot of huge chains to fit their persona, notably 50 Cent with the G-Unit spinning chain.
In recent years, rappers have toned down on the chains, with the exception of guys such as French Montana and Plies. When looking at it, Plies is keeping the chain phenomena alive and has taken it back to its roots. The 1990s and early 2000s brought about the platinum chain, but he rocks gold chains.
A crazy rumor began about Plies today, stating he is in the hospital due to an injury to his neck. Yesterday afternoon, paramedics reportedly arrived at Plies’ home after a freak accident occurred. Reports say Plies’ fifteen pound chain fractured his neck in three places.
