Political revolutionary, Nelson Mandela, dies at 95 years old
During the summer, there were false reports about the death of Nelson Mandela. His influence was so broad, it hit all aspects of life. When talking about the Civil Rights movement, Nelson Mandela has to be brought up because he helped abolish segregation in South Africa in the 1990s.
Nelson Mandela had served 27 years in prison before being freed and he became a revolutionary. His efforts not only led to South Africa being integrated, but he also became the first black president. While America’s Civil Rights movement peaked in the 1960s, there was no “black” president until 2009.
At the age of 95-years-old, Nelson Mandela has gone through many health issues associated with old age. Today, he succumbed to this battle and now the world is forced to say goodbye to him. Nelson Mandela left a major impact on South Africa and the rest of the world.
Rest in peace Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, born July 18, 1985 and now departed on December 5 2013.
