Pop Smoke’s 2019 Breakout Hit Single, “Dior,” Officially Certified 3x Platinum in The US on Same Day as 1-Year Anniversary of His Death

Yesterday officially marked the 1-year anniversary of Pop Smoke’s death. Tributes poured in all over social media for the rising Brooklyn rapper as people celebrated his posthumous successes over the last year.

Fans have since been playing hit records by Smoke that he released during his brief career. One them that is still very popular is “Dior,” one of his summer 2019 singles that helped him gain a hue following. Now, this record is about to receive another plaque.

According to Chart Data, “Dior” is now 3x platinum in the US. This is after selling 3 million units. This track originally appeared on Smoke’s “Meet The Woo” mixtape in the summer of 2019. The remix ended up being on the mixtape’s sequel in February 2020 which included Gunna on it.

Dior is also nominated for an award at the 2021 GRAMMYS that are taking place in Los Angeles next month. It is in the category of Best Rap Performance. The other nominees are “Deep Reverence” by Big Sean featuring Nipsey Hussle “Bop” by DaBaby, “What’s Poppin” by Jack Harlow, “The Bigger Picture” by Lil Baby, and “Savage” remix by Megan Thee Stallion featuring Beyoncé.
