Pop Smoke’s Family Holding Private Church Service Today in Brooklyn in Remembrance of Him; Funeral Still Being Worked On

Hip-Hop is still mourning after the loss of rising Brooklyn rapper, Pop Smoke, after he was shot in killed in a Hollywood Hills, CA home in the early morning of February 19. Police still believe this was a targeted hit in this home invasion and not a botched robbery. Four men reportedly went inside the luxury home owned by ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ star Teddi Mellencamp and her husband, Edwin Arroyave.

Smoke’s family ended up going to Los Angeles to question friends and witnesses close to the situation about what happened. According to TMZ, they’re now working on bringing his body back to Brooklyn. Today, they’re holding a service at a church in his memory along with close friends.

As far as a funeral, this is still in the works. The family didn’t think he had any enemies in LA at all and figured if he did, it’d likely be back in NYC. He canceled his concert in Brooklyn last week over concern of possible gang presence in the crowd as well. The family has also since been handling business regarding Smoke’s music with a lawyer from LA. As of now, no suspects have been arrested.
