Yesterday ended up being a very tough day for Backpage.com users, and the ownership. Those who know about the website have often wondered how it managed to last for so long. Seeing how the site deals in things that operate on the fringes of the law, it had a short lifespan.
With that, Backpage actually lasted a lot longer than most things of that kind of nature. However, all things, such as these, do come to an end, and it’s when it’s least expected. Yesterday saw the official end of the site.
The website has been seized by the FBI and the above photo is the screen that shows up, when visiting the site. Along with that, the site’s founder has seen his home raided. Perhaps anticipating something like this, Backpage shut down their adult section, last year.
