Starting at 9pm ET, coinciding with the debate’s commencement, the adult site saw an 8% drop in viewership compared to its average. However, this slump was temporary as traffic spiked by 12% above the average at around 11pm, shortly after the debate concluded.

A Pornhub spokesperson shared with DailyMail.com that the debate significantly impacted the evening routines of many Americans. The site, which attracts 130 million visitors daily, predominantly from the US, observed the largest drop in Delaware at 22%, closely followed by Washington DC and Wyoming at 20%. Conversely, states like Connecticut, Maine, and Alabama saw increases in traffic during the debate.

This pattern mirrors data from the 2020 debates, where Pornhub saw an 18.5% drop in traffic during the first hour of the debate. This year’s drop, though less severe, indicates a continued trend of political events influencing online activity.

CNN reported that the debate drew only 47.9 million viewers, a significant decline from the 73 million who watched four years ago. The debate, criticized for its combative nature and lack of substantive discussion, led many viewers to seek alternative entertainment immediately afterward.
