Postmates Delivery Driver Who Lizzo Publicly Accused on Twitter of Stealing Her Food is Suing Lizzo For Defamation and Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress

In September, Lizzo put a Postmates delivery driver named Tiffany Wells on blast on Twitter. She was accusing Wells of stealing her food. Wells had made every attempt to try to contact and find Lizzo at her Boston hotel but simply couldn’t reach her. Since then, Wells has been living in fear and says she’s been subjected to ridicule and humiliation, stress and anxiety.

Now. Wells is taking legal action against Lizzo. According to TMZ, the ‘Truth Hurts’ star is being sued for defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Wells’ lawsuit states that her life hasn’t been the same since the incident as she’s received threats and doesn’t feel safe at all.

Wells says that Postmates stood by her after she couldn’t deliver the food. Currently, she’s not with the food delivery service anymore. Despite Lizzo’s apology, no one can blame Wells for this lawsuit. Lizzo had no business putting that tweet out. She could’ve just contacted Postmates directly without trying to get social media validation.

Aside from this, Lizzo has done very well this year as an artist as her third studio album ‘Cuz I Luv You’ peaked at fourth on the Billboard 200 Chart along with her single ‘Truth Hurts’ being a No. 1 record which was originally released in 2017. Truth Hurts also reached the accomplishment of longest-running No. 1 single by a female rap artist.
