WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS OF SEASON TWO, EPISODE 9 BELOW.

On tonight’s episode of “Power Book II: Ghost,” Tariq (Michael Rainey, Jr.) and Mecca (Daniel Sunjata) finally met. All season long, Mecca aka Dante Spears has been this mysterious character. During his first scene, Mecca defended Cane (Woody McClain) and Lil Guap (Marcus Anderson) from their rivals.

Mecca saved Cane and Lil Guap, but Cane remained suspicious of him. Cane eventually began to trust Mecca, who introduced him to his lifestyle. It wasn’t long before Mecca was revealed to be Monet’s (Mary J. Blige) ex-boyfriend, Dante. Later, Zeke (Daniel Bellomy) was revealed to be their son. Despite this, Monet didn’t know Dante as Mecca. She wasn’t aware that Mecca was Cane’s new connect.

“Power” fans have speculated about Mecca all season long. After the heist, Tariq wound up with Mecca’s bag, which he traced to him. As Tariq learned this, he called Davis MacLean (Method Man) for info on Mecca aka Dante Spars. Tariq would prove “Power” fans were right about Mecca, as he dubbed Spears as a “global snitch.” Mecca admitted he was going to snitch on Lobos (Enrique Merciano), before Ghost (Omari Hardwick) and Tommy (Joseph Sikora) took him out. But, Tariq got Mecca to fold, and now fans are roasting Mecca on Twitter.
