“Power” returns for season five on July 1 and receives early renewal for season six #PowerTV #PowerReturns

Last year, “Power” wasn’t holding back anything, as there were real consequences, for the first time. Because of his actions, Ghost (Omari Hardwick) had to deal with Tariq (Michael Rainey, Jr.) getting caught up. Kanan (50 Cent) took him under his wing.

All season long, last season, fans expected Tariq to get killed off. But, the major twist was Raina (Donshea Hopkins), who previously had only a bit role, being killed off. She got involved in Tariq’s dealings and paid the ultimate price, even though the “Power” leaks took the shock value.

“Power” is set to return for season five on July 1. Now, Ghost is dealing with the aftermath of his decisions, as Tasha (Naturi Naughton) has a new man, but he has Kanan back on his side, as well as Tommy (Joseph Sikora). Along with season five, Starz announced the show’s being renewed for season six.
