Pregnant woman loses baby in vicious Chicago teen attack

A married couple’s date night ended in tragedy. Sadly, they were violently attacked by a group of teenagers in Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood on Friday. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. at Grand Avenue and McClurg Court.

The couple was just leaving their date, but found themselves surrounded by teens who kicked, stomped on, and punched them repeatedly. Nina, the wife, shared harrowing images with FOX 32. In addition, showing a chunk of her hair pulled out. Her eye was still bruised during the interview. Also, her husband was viciously attacked, with the group holding him down.

“This wasn’t a robbery,” Nina said. “The teens pepper-sprayed me and kicked my stomach. I was two weeks pregnant and found out after the attack that I had lost the baby.”

Despite the brutal assault, the couple remained hopeful.

“We believe in faith, and it wasn’t meant to be. So, we don’t know why this happened to us,” Nina expressed.

Chicago police quickly arrived on the scene and apprehended a 14-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl. As a result, both teens were charged with one count of misdemeanor battery.

Nina recounted the bizarre behavior and remarks from the attackers.

“They didn’t steal anything. They were saying, ‘We own the street. You can’t walk around.’ I was wearing a nice dress and heels, and they dragged my dress on the ground. They said, ‘We own the street. You can’t just walk around prancing in your little dress.’

It didn’t make any sense because they don’t know me personally.”

Chicago police are continuing their investigation into the attack. The Cook County State’s Attorney has been contacted to determine if additional charges will be filed. We are awaiting their response.
