Bad news also hit longtime hip hop fans in the midst of several comebacks. During what some call “the dark ages of hip hop,” Mobb Deep held things down. But, even they disappointed the masses, first signing with G-Unit, and then turning on Nas. However, the real issue was between Prodigy and Havoc.
Back in April, Havoc sounded Prodigy out on Twitter. Havoc called Prodigy gay, said he thinks he is Jay-Z, and secretly in love with Rihanna. Later, Havoc would claim his Twitter was hacked. Along with Prodigy, Havoc would later attend a New York Knicks’ game.
Months later, Havoc confirmed the tweets were for him and split from Prodigy. While the run of Mobb Deep is officially over, Prodigy is on a second run. Prodigy teamed up with The Alchemist, one of his favorite producers, for a joint album. Albert Einstein is their second joint album.
