Ironically, as Consequence left G.O.O.D. Music and began feuding with Q-Tip, his cousin, and his former label boss, Kanye West, Q-Tip was signing to G.O.O.D. Music. This year has been huge for G.O.O.D. Music, as the label came together for Cruel Summer. Kanye West created G.O.O.D. Music before the release of his debut album, but it was not his priority.

Kanye West did sign Common and John Legend, who enjoyed much success with the brand, but label boss was not Kanye’s first hat. Big Sean would be added to the label, but it would be four years before he was unleashed on the game. During this time, the crews took over the game and G.O.O.D. Music became an outfit, as opposed to a regular label.

In 2011, Kanye West, Pusha T, and Big Sean all acted independently. But, in 2012, they were one united front and Cruel Summer was a classic. 2 Chainz, the unofficial G.O.O.D. member, appeared on the album while Q-Tip did not. Previously, Q-Tip spoke to MTV about not being on the album, hinting at Cruel Winter, which he confirmed with HipHopSince1987.com.
