Last year, Q-Tip rejoined A Tribe Called Quest, and they released their sixth album, We Got It from Here … Thank You 4 Your Service. This album proved to be their final offering. There are very few classic albums still being made, but this one ranks up there.
Boasting contributions from Phife Dawg, posthumously, the album earned high marks from fans and critics. At the end of last year’s Grammys, Tribe came out and performed this song. A year later, hip hop is all over the Grammys, but Tribe is nowhere to be found.
Q-Tip, without mentioning them by name, showed love to Jay-Z, Cardi B, and Kendrick Lamar, for their nominations. But, he was going in on the Grammys, themselves. After inviting them to close out last year’s show, their album wasn’t even nominated, which sent Q-Tip off on a major rant.
