Quavo partners with Kamala Harris for Rocket Foundation Summit
Last year, Quavo met with Vice President Kamala Harris, regarding gun violence in the United States. That came after his late cousin and former fellow Migos member Takeoff was shot and killed, in late 2021. Quavo met with Harris at the White House, alongside his mother and Takeoff’s mother, though the Congressional Black Caucus.
Meanwhile, Quavo is planning to meet with Vice President Harris, yet again. Accirding to Variety, he is partnering with Harris and the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, to launch the inaugural Rocket Foundation Summit. This will take place in Quavo’s hometown of Atlanta, on June 18. Moreover, that is also what would’ve been Takeoff’s 30th birthday, where he’ll be honored.
Furthermore, this summit will also honor other victims of gun violence. The event will go on to feature Quavo and Kamala Harris in a fireside chat, where they’ll discuss the various methods of preventing gun violence.
On Friday, Quavo also dropped off his new “Mink” single. This is his fourth single of 2024, and comes after he released his “Rocket Power” album, last summer. That was named after Takeoff, and debuted at number 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
