Earlier today we reported the indictment of R. Kelly on the 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Now, there is a no-bail warrant out for R. Kelly and his first court date is slated for March 8th.
On the case is Michael Avenatti who claims represents at least one of the alleged victims in the indictment, and represents a total of two victims, two parents and two whistleblowers who are apart of the R&B singers inner circle. He submitted an image and a very graphic videotape of Kelly having sex with a an underage,14 year old girl. The video contains clips of vaginal sex, anal sex, oral sex and urination. Avenatti says at one point of the video, it shows the girl being forced to watch a video of R. Kelly, whom she called “daddy,” having sex with another minor.
During a brief news conference, Cook County District Attorney Kim Foxx read off the charges and dates of when the alleged sex crimes occurred claiming the first victim was abused between May 26, 1998 and May 25, 1999. She continued by saying the second victim was from September 26, 1998 and September 25, 2001. The third victim on February 18, 2003. And, the fourth victim between May 1, 2009 and January 31, 2010.
Avenatti says he is going after R. Kelly’s enablers – lawyers, agents, managers and others whom he says stood by as R. Kelly sexually abused girls and didn’t stop it or say anything. He says his mission is bringing them to justice. As for the 2008 trial where Kelly was found not guilty, Avenatti says it was rigged, with various forms of obstruction of justice and witness intimidation. Avenatti says he has yet another video and is in the process of obtaining a third video.
