R. Kelly Wants To Stay In Solitary Confinement Over General Population Due To Fearing For His Life While In Jail Until Next Hearing On September 4

R. Kelly has been locked up since last week after he was arrested in Chicago on sex trafficking charges and after ex-employees of his turned in 20 sex tapes of him having sex with underage girls. He was recently denied bond by a judge as he was labeled as “an extreme danger to the community, especially to minor girls.”

Kelly’s next hearing won’t be until September 4 and until then, he’s requesting that he remains in solitary confinement as opposed to being in the general population, according to his attorney Nicole Blank Becker, to TMZ. This is due to concerns about fearing for his life. Kelly is worried that other inmates would fight him over what he’s being in jail for.

While Kelly wants to be in solitary confinement, there are some drawbacks. He only gets 15 minutes per month to speak on the phone with family and friends. He would also have problems reading off of the commissary list due to him being illiterate. There will also be no TVs where he’d be placed.

These charges could finally take down Kelly after these three decades of his sexual relations with young girls. He was exposed at the beginning of 2019 in Lifetime’s docuseries, ‘Surviving R. Kelly.’
