R. Kelly Was Reportedly Placed on Suicide Watch, After His Sex Trafficking Conviction, in NYC Trial

Last month. R. Kelly finally had his trial in New York City, for his sex trafficking and racketeering charges. He was found guilty, on nine counts, and is facing 10-100 years in prison. According to The Daily Mail, the R&B star was reportedly placed on suicide watch, after that verdict. This was revealed by his attorney, Steven Greenberg, to a federal judge, on Wednesday.

At this point though, Kelly isn’t on this suicide watch anymore. On August 1, 2022, he will also he on trial in his hometown of Chicago, on child pornography charges. In Minnesota, Kelly is also facing a child prostitution case. Kelly’s NYC sentencing won’t take place until all the way on May 4, 2022.

Kelly’s NYC case also featured him being guilty of 12 individual illegal acts, in total. This includes sex with minors and bribing an Illinois public official in 1994 to try to marry Aaliyah, with a fake ID. In Chicago, it’s expected that three videos of Kelly having sex with minors, will aslo be used as evidence.

Greenberg also added that the Chicago trial shouldn’t start, until it’s known how long Kelly will be sentenced for, in NYC. Prosecutors could dropped the Chicago charges, if he gets a lengthy NYC sentence, but there is reportedly “virtually no chance,” that that happens.
