What happened next for him was a label deal with Interscope Records. This allowed him to create the EarDrummers label and to sign Rae Sremmurd as the first act.
During the summer, Rae Sremmurd (ear drummers spelled backwards) scored a major hit with “No Flex Zone.” The single took over the radio and was freestyled by all of the popular artists in the game. Following this, the duo released “No Type” and it also had similar success, even being recited by Tracee Ellis Ross.
Rae Sremmurd enjoyed a very strong breakout year, but not everyone is feeling their movement and success. In fact, one Instagram fan took to a random meme of Swae Lee to unleash their venom. Going off on the “No Type” record, the fan hurled all types of insults toward Swae Lee and Rae Sremmurd.
