Coming up alongside Busta Rhymes, Rah Digga came out at a time when people really rapped for the sport. Times have changed and now it is all about record sales. Given how much the industry changed, it kind of had to get like this, because it’s the only way rappers eat.
Debates like this is why “Everyday Struggle” exists and this is why they pit Joe Budden and DJ Akademiks against each other. Sometimes, their opinions rile artists, such as Jeezy. But, DJ Whoo Kid appears to be setting more people off than Joe Budden.
When they talked about Black Thought’s Hot 97 freestyle, Whoo Kid basically said what he did was cool, but mentioned that he didn’t sell many records. Seeing the era she came from, Rah Digga wasn’t feeling that commentary, at all. She said “Everyday Struggle” should just wait until Joe Budden returns to discuss that.
