Each time Rakim drops, the hip hop world pays attention. Four years ago, Rakim released his album, The Seventh Seal. A long-awaited comeback, Rakim caught the attention of the rap game and has stuck around ever since. In recent years, however, Rakim has been more of a sideline commentator than an actual player.
Considered the God MC before Jay-Z, Rakim does not have to be playing in the game to be the best at it. Over the past couple of months, Rakim caught the attention of the rap game with some leaked music. Several songs Rakim recorded back in 1995 have been leaked to the internet to much fanfare.
Hot New Hip Hop recently talked to Rakim. Universally considered a legend in the rap game, many often go to Rakim for insight. During his interview with Hot New Hip Hop, Rakim spoke on his opinion of the rap game. Obviously, the game is not what it was when he first began his career.
