When a Houston man went fishing in Louisiana, he had no idea he’d make history. Actually, the man was going through a hard time, and took the trip to decompress. So he decided to go on a fishing trip. When he made this decision, he had no idea that he’d capture history. However, that’s exactly what happened. As the man was finishing, he spotted two pink dolphins, which is a rarity. Unfortunately, he was only able to record one of them.

Most dolphins are associated with being black or gray in color. However, in different habitats, with a lack of melanin, they can appear pinkish in color. This is what’s been going on with the Louisiana pink dolphin. As a result, the dolphin has earned the nickname of “Pinky.” Many locals have seen “Pinky” over the years. However, it ended up being the man from Texas in town for fishing to capture the animal on camera.

Thurman Gustin is a native of Houston, Texas. Like all people endure, Gustin was having a hard time. As a result, he decided to travel to Louisiana to do some fishing. During his time to decompress, Gustin wound up making history. Not only did he spot the pink dolphin that’s been seen since 2007, but he also got a video of the animal. In addition, he found another pink dolphin, which he was unable to capture on camera.
