It has been very easy to get lost in the media frenzy, which has surrounded Whitney Houston’s death. The actual report of her death has been overshadowed by the follow-up stories. For years, Whitney Houston has been dating fellow R&B singer, Ray J. Since Ray J began dating Whitney Houston, there has been tension between him and former friend, an ex-husband of Whitney Houston, Bobby Brown. After obsessing over Bobbi Kristina’s reaction to the death of her mother, the focus became on how Ray J and Bobby Brown would get along.
This story was emphasized where there were rumors of Ray J being the one who found Whitney Houston dead. In the end, a close relative of Houston found her body. However, Ray J was one of the last people Whitney Houston spent time with before her death. Only a week prior to her death, there were rumors of Whitney Houston resuming her relationship with Ray J, after being apart for well over a year. Those rumors were sadly confirmed when the news of Whitney Houston’s death made news.
Several reports have been made about Ray J, yet the singer-turned-reality star has yet to release his own statement regarding the situation. Earlier today, Ray J broke his silence about the death of who he called a “close friend.” It was announced both Ray J, and older sister Brandy, will be in attendance at Whitney Houston’s funeral in New Jersey. Ray J revealed he has stayed away from the media because he has been trying to process the emptiness he feels. The California entertainer went on to say, the world lost an icon, but he lost a close friend, saying “Nippy, I miss you so much!”
