Since coming out as openly bisexual man, NFL veteran Ryan Russell has been living his truth as he maps out his return to a team roster. The reception to Russell’s revelation has been generally positive and celebratory. Even more so, it appears that people are indifference to the news. I’d say it is a good sign as to where we’re at as a society when one side of the consensus involves fans saying they do not care, and all that matters is whether he’s good enough to help a team.
As for Russell, he’s been receiving support from many within the NFL. Speaking with TMZ cameras, the three year vet said that fellow players and coaches have reached out, congratulating him on his bravery. He was with his partner holding hands as they appeared to be heading out to eat.
He went on to disclose that he’s in talks with teams as well. Aside form working out and staying in shape, it appears that Russell is focused on continuing with his NFL career.
