Rema’s “Calm Down” is most streamed Afrobeats song on Spotify

Over the past three years, Afrobeats has been extremely dominant. This has seen artists such as Burna Boy, Wizkid, Tems, Rema and more soar to stardom, as Nigeria has been home to plenty of major talent.

Meanwhile, Spotify has just released their list of the most streamed Afrobeats songs in the history of their platform. The top spot is occupied by Rema’s “Calm Down” remix. This included a huge feature from Selena Gomez, as this collaboration was released last August. Furthermore, it went on to peak at number three in the US, on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Calm Down initially appeared on Rema’s debut studio album, “Rave & Roses,” in February of last year. 22 songs were available in total, as Rema also collaborated with 6LACK, Chris Brown, and more. Furthermore, he is will venture on his Rave & Roses Tour, which will kick off on July 15, in Washington, D.C., at the Broccoli City Festival.

The second and third spots on Spotify’s most streamed Afrobeats songs list are both occupied by CKay. Those are his “Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah)” and Love Nwantiti remix, with DJ Yo and AX’EL.
