When Rich Boy first came into the game, the critics had a field day with him. Nothing like the other rappers in the game, Rich Boy came out at the height of the ringtone era in hip hop. Rich Boy dropped his self-titled debut and he showed flashes of what he could be in the future.

But, Interscope Records had different plans and this led to Rich Boy leaving the label and going back independent. Working on the mixtape movement, Rich Boy kept himself going strong. Rich Boy would sign with independent powerhouse, eOne Music, where he released Break the Pot.

Before he released Break the Pot, Rich Boy talked to Vlad TV about all that went on that led to him leaving Interscope Records. While he is not mad at anyone, Rich Boy said he submitted hundreds of songs to the label that were never used. Rich Boy also detailed his work with Polow Da Don.
