Compared to his 2011-2012 run, Rick Ross has been a ghost in 2012-2013. Finally releasing God Forgives, I Don’t, Rick Ross all but disappeared following the release of the album. When he first aligned with Wale and Meek Mill, Rick Ross was everywhere with his new signees.
This summer, Wale dropped a new album and he did most of his promoting alongside his Roc Nation family. Jay-Z made more appearances and commentary than Rick Ross has and Meek Mill has seemingly returned to Philadelphia. Maybach Music will always be family, but Rick Ross has been absent.
Mastermind, Rick Ross’ sixth studio album, has been basically an afterthought. It looks like this might’ve just been the plan all along. This morning, Rick Ross and Def Jam have tweeted about a new single off the Mastermind album that will be released on September 5.
