Rick Ross credits himself for creating a “new era” after new MMG releases [PHOTO]
Confidence is nothing new coming from Rick Ross, because he believed in himself and his movement when no one else did. The Miami-based emcee initially launched Maybach Music following the release of Trilla, his second album. Many wrote the label off as a side project, like most artist-run record labels are.
But, Rick Ross had much more in mind for Maybach Music, bringing the label’s name back up when most had forgotten it. In addition to the core of Gunplay, Young Breed, and Torch, he expanded the label to include Wale and Meek Mill. The move was announced by Ross, but most wrote it off until it happened.
Rick Ross has since held the game down as a top five artist since 2010-2011. After somewhat slipping, Rick Ross has had a dominating 2014 that firmly put him back on top of the game. Following strong releases under MMG from himself, Omarion, and Stalley, Rick Ross said he created a new era on Instagram.
