Early in 2013, A1 Freebandz has been the center of their own drama. First, Future came under fire for “Karate Chop.” But, the issue was with Lil Wayne, who disrespected the deceased Jim Crow law victim, Emmett Till. Before those issues even cleared, Rocko came under fire for “U.E.N.O.,” over Rick Ross’ verse.
On “U.E.N.O.,” Rick Ross mentioned the usage of Molly, a very popular topic in hip hop over the past year. Los Angeles rapper, Problem, has taken credit for bringing the drug to the forefront. Long before Mollys became popular, date rape was a serious topic that was even discussed on ABC’s “20/20” and Rick Ross promoted it on “U.E.N.O.”
Though he denied actually promoting date rape, Rick Ross faced a backlash that included being banned from radio stations and being called out by Talib Kweli. Rick Ross feels he was misunderstood, but he was man enough to apologize. Earlier today, Rick Ross took to his Twitter to issue an apology.
