Rickey Smiley has become one of the most popular talk radio hosts in the world. Over the course of his career, Rickey Smiley went from being a standup comedian, among many, to doing Friday After Next. From there, he slowly put himself in a position to be a major star. When he got the spotlight, Smiley landed a huge radio show and an immense fan base. However, being Black in America, Rickey Smiley still faces the same challenge. According to Smiley, an Uber driver refused to drive him because he’s Black.

Rickey Smiley, given his position, has been outspoken in the race debates. In 2020, during the protests for George Floyd, Smiley was very outspoken. As a result, more conservative audiences began to speak out against Smiley and those who think like him. However, it’s more than likely that this Uber driver probably never even heard of him. If Smiley’s accusations are accurate, the person driving the Uber solely refused Smiley based on his race, and not on his commentary.

Rickey Smiley used his immense platform to call out the person driving Uber. When all he wanted was a ride, Smiley said the driver refused to drive him. While the driver’s words cannot be heard, Smiley can be heard echoing “because I’m Black?” As a result, the audience is left to believe the Uber driver was discriminating against Smiley. While he was going through this, Rickey Smiley shared the video to his Instagram, where people have been reacting.
