Too much focus, of the music industry, has been pitting female rappers against each other. Last year, the first half of the year was all about Remy Ma vs. Nicki Minaj, for good reason. Then, the second half of last year, and up until this spring was Nicki Minaj vs. Cardi B.
While all that was going on, Rico Nasty was crushing streaming numbers. The DMV rapstress was making sure people were paying attention to her. Now, she has something to show for her efforts, but she’s coming for the top spot, period.
Rico Nasty announced, this afternoon, that she was signed to Atlantic Records, making her and Cardi B label-mates. Since last year, her music has been on Atlantic Records’ YouTube page. Now, there is an official deal in place.
