Rihanna, Drake, & more speak on LeBron James’ scoring record
Shortly before the clock struck midnight of February 8, LeBron James officially became the NBA’s all-time leading scorer. This happened with 10 seconds left in the third quarter, of the Los Angeles Lakers game vs the Oklahoma City Thunder, at home, inside Crypto.com Arena.
LeBron broke Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record, who was also a Laker. Following this historic milestone, the Thunder vs Lakers game was briefly paused, in honor to honor LeBron. NBA commissioner Adam Silver spoke, and Abdul-Jabbar also showed LeBron love. Meanwhile, the Thunder went on to defeat the Lakers, 133-130.
On television, a shout out video for LeBron was also aired. This included celebrities such as Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, and Drake. LeBron’s mother Gloria, Shaquille O’Neil, Charles Barkley and others were also included in this video.
One of the most notable rappers to attend the game in LA on Tuesday night, was Jay Z. Jay and LeBron have been close friends since the early years of LeBron’s NBA career.
