Rihanna Turns Down Super Bowl Performance Because NFL Continues To Blackball Colin Kaepernick For Protesting Racism And Police Brutality

Rihanna rejects Super Bowl opportunity for Colin Kaepernick
Colin Kaepernick has not played in the NFL for two seasons, now. It’s all due to the NFL not wanting teams to sign him. This is because he knelt during the National Anthem to protest the racism and police brutality that is plaguing America. Many names in hip-hop refuse to perform at NFL games, because of this with the most notable name being Jay Z. He turned down doing the Super Bowl halftime performance.
Add Rihanna to the list of huge artists who want no involvement with the NFL for their treatment of Kaepernick. According to US Weekly, she passed up on performing at the Super Bowl in support of Kaepernick. Expect the list of artists to grow even more.
Rihanna, over the past thirteen years, has been one of music’s biggest names. Between 2005 and 2012, she topped Billboard Hot 100 every year. So, this makes Rihanna one of the biggest names in music. Her rejecting a Super Bowl performance could potentially influence other hip hop and hip hop-influenced artists to do the same. Colin Kaepernick’s treatment has led to many influential people speaking out against the NFL.
“The NFL and CBS really wanted Rihanna to be next year’s performer in Atlanta,” said a US Weekly insider. “They offered it to her, but she said no because of the kneeling controversy. She doesn’t agree with the NFL’s stance.”
