A lot within the music industry has changed in the past two years and it is all Jay Z-involved projects leading the change. In the closing days of 2013, Beyonce released her self-titled album as a surprise. Since then, many artists, including Drake, have dropped surprise releases.
This year, Jay Z took over the music industry in a big way with the start of TIDAL, his music streaming company. Many artists joined TIDAL, including Rihanna, unsurprisingly. While she released some exclusive stuff off the album via TIDAL, no release date has been concrete.
Rihanna, due to the massive Adele album release, was said to have pushed her album back again, indefinitely. Now, there is a rumor going around that it drops tomorrow. It would be typical Jay Z/Roc Nation/TIDAL fashion to attempt an album release as a surprise on Christmas.
