Many people have overlooked this, but Donald Trump and Rihanna have been going back and forth for seven years. Back in 2011, Rihanna was booked by Trump to perform at one of his events. When she was a no-show, he called her out, leading to a longstanding feud.
Ironically, 2011 was also the year when Donald Trump became more politically active. During this time, he became the most-vocal critic of former president, Barack Obama. Given hip hop’s relationship with 44, this ended any chance of Rihanna ever liking Trump.
Years later, Donald Trump is now the president, and Rihanna is advocating for the Democratic Party. On social media, Rihanna has been campaigning for Stacey Abrams, defending her stances against trolls. Now, Rihanna, who already called Trump out for using her music, has sent him a cease and desist letter, following his use of “Please Don’t Stop The Music” at one of his many rallies.
