Rihanna had more viewers than the Super Bowl with halftime show
Rihanna established herself as a force in music, from the very beginning. While she had a huge debut, few people could have predicted what Rihanna would become. During the early part of her career, Rihanna starred in Covergirl commercials. Now, she has her own company, FENTY, which is considered the Covergirl of this generation. In addition, she topped Billboard Hot 100 every year from 2005-2012. Until this weekend, the Super Bowl was the only thing Rihanna never did.
Rihanna incredibly posted hits that spanned almost a decade. After 2012, Rihanna took a four year hiatus, only dropping one single in between. That single, “BBHMM,” was the first one she performed during her Super Bowl halftime show. However, the performance is not what had people talking. First, when she showed herself, people noticed how much weight she gained. Once she turned to the side, people realized Rihanna was pregnant.
Rihanna managed to steal the show, of what was an incredible game. The Kansas City Chiefs managed to pull off an incredible comeback win, against the Philadelphia Eagles. Many are already considering the game a classic. Patrick Mahomes took home his second Super Bowl MVP. For his efforts, the Super Bowl drew 113 million viewers. However, Rihanna ended up outperforming that, delivering 118 million viewers for her performance, alone.
