Sometimes, it seems like sad news is hard to avoid, but these types of stories happen often. People love high energy, high contact, sports, but rarely factor in the physical toll it takes. While basketball isn’t high contact, it is high energy.

To be in basketball shape basically means to get up, early, eat next to nothing, and train, just to go train some more. Definitely, basketball takes a special kind of dedication. But, there are times when people are being pushed too hard.

Zeke Upshaw was a professional basketball player, who found a home at the Detroit Pistons’ minor league, Grand Rapids Drive. In his final game, Upshaw was knocking those three-pointers down. But, he collapsed, towards the end of that game, and this afternoon, he has died, as Twitter shows their support.
