Police brutality is on the rise, or at least the recording of police brutality is on the rise. One of the first times it was depicted was by Spike Lee on his Do The Right Thing cult classic. In the movie, Bill Nunn played the role of Radio Raheem and he was killed by the police.

Bill Nunn became best-known for Radio Raheem, but he also played in many other movies. Among his other appearances were in New Jack City, with Wesley Snipes. But, his last film work will end up being his last film work, ever.

This afternoon, Spike Lee announced, via Instagram, that Bill Nunn is dead. Immediately, Twitter began to mourn Bill Nunn’s death. Others pointed out the irony in Bill Nunn dying in the middle of an uproar about police brutality.
