Robin Thicke has cultivated a soulful sound over the past seventeen years. During the 2013 period, Thicke saw his career reach unprecedented heights. Nobody expected it to be Robin Thicke coming through like that, but it was. “Blurred Lines” was a massive hit, but it caught the attention of Marvin Gaye’s family. They would sue for copyright infringement and they would win. Since, Thicke has had noticeable struggles and a fall in popularity. Recently, he did an interview and spoke on his soulful style.
Robin Thicke remains a hugely talented individual. However, he like everyone else, has gone through the blows that life deals. After the success of “Blurred Lines,” he got hit with the lawsuit. Not only did he get sued, but he also got caught cheating on his wife. As a result, Paula Patton left him. In the years since, he managed to find love again. However, Robin Thicke has not managed to score another hit single. Now, it appears as if his time has passed.
Robin Thicke may not be making the radio hits like he used to, but he can still wow a crowd. Recently, he spoke to the “We In Miami” podcast. During the interview, Thicke was asked about where his soulful style came from. Jokingly, Robin Thicke said he and his family have been “trying to be Black” for quite some time. But he went onto mention his musical inspirations, along with growing up dating Paula Patton, a Black woman, who would become his wife.
