Rod Wave has been one of the biggest stars in hip-hop over the past year and has shown a lot of consistency with his releases. Last April, he put out his “Pray 4 Love” album which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. Last week, he released his “SoulFly” album and many believed that it could be his first No. 1 album.
The Florida rapper’s dream is about to become a realty as according to Chart Data, SoulFly is set to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. This is after selling 139,000 units in the US in its first week. Justin Bieber comes in at No. 2 with his “Justice” album with second week sales of 103,000 units. NF’s “Clouds (The Mixtape)” comes in at No. 3 with 90,000 units.
SoulFly contained 19 tracks in total with one feature from Polo G. Rod explained on The Breakfast Club that when he met Polo, he could tell he was a solid person and from that point, they got their collab done.
Rod is also currently working on setting up tour dates for six months. This would last from May-December. Considering the massive amount of success that he’s been having, these will likely be sold out shows for sure.
