Roddy Ricch’s label reps claim that he didn’t forget lyrics to “The Box,” at recent concert; Blames audio issues

Roddy Ricch denies forgetting lyrics to “The Box” at his concert

A few nights ago, Roddy Ricch performed at Stoner Ape Club NFT group’s showcase. There, Roddy went viral, after it appeared that he forgot the lyrics to his 2019-chart topping and diamond-certified “The Box” single. The Compton rapper had trouble with the first verse of the track.

That came after pointing to his earpiece, and looking at his DJ. Roddy soon resumed his regular performance.

According to TMZ though, Roddy claims that him forgetting the lyrics to The Box, wasn’t the case. Roddy’s label reps told the outlet that he was dealing with “major audio issues,” during the performance. They added that his earpiece didn’t connect to the song, and Roddy had to focus on the song from the speakers, instead.

The Box originally appeared on Roddy’s debut studio album, “Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial.” That was also released in December 2019, and wasn’t even a lead single. It immediately became the biggest song from the album though, once it was released.

Roddy went on to release his sophomore album, “Live Life Fast,” this past December. That saw a number four rebut, on the Billboard 200 chart.
