Rolling Stone lists Monster as Nicki Minaj’s best feature
Nicki Minaj is one of the most awarded and influential female rap artist in history. Selling over a 100 million records worldwide, her career is still expanding nearly 20 years later. In addition to creating her own chart-topping singles, Nicki Minaj has made a name for herself as a feature Queen. Rolling Stone released their own list highlighting Nicki’s best features, ranking Kanye’s “Monster” as the best of her career.
The 2011 single is from Kanye’s critically acclaimed fifth studio album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Although Jay-Z and Rick Ross delivered solid versus, it was Nicki’s lyricism that stood out. To date that single has reached over 200 million streams on Spotify with the album itself reaching triple platinum status. Proving her skill as a master lyricist through features, Nicki went on to dominate the rest of the 2011 and the years to follow.
Rolling Stone isn’t the first to name Nicki’s best features, as Billboard gave a similar list in 2020 with “Monster” also topping the chart. Other features listed included Yo Gotti’s “Rake It Up,” Young Thug’s “Danny Glover,” Meek Mill’s “All Eyes On You,” and Rae Sremmurd’s “No Flex Zone.” Visit Rolling Stone to see the full list.
